Annette Funicello (born Annette Funicello) was an American musician, actress and performer. She was best known as one of the original "Mouseketeers" on the 'Mickey Mouse Club.' In her teens Annette started singing and became a household name for her hit songs, 'TallPaul' and Pineapple Princess'. Annette was an introverted girl born in Utica in the company of Italian immigrants. As she wished to have a successful career in entertainment her first step was acting and dancing. The mid-1950s saw her played in numerous Disney sketches in the role of one of the "Mouseketeers" and gained considerable recognition. Annette was able to let go of the "Disney" persona that she developed as a child and take various adult roles. Annette was renowned as one of the very first actors who pioneered"the "beach party" genre. The actress was in films such as 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini,' 'Pajama Party, as well as 'Beach Party.' Her music albums were released periodically. Annette was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. Annette passed away from the disease in the year 2013.
